About Us

Pinventory®'s story began on April 24, 1994 with a phone call from the Teaneck police.

A car accident had instantly killed Carol Kaufman's mother and left her father with traumatic brain injury, while traveling back to NJ from the Berkshires.

Carol's dad needed constant oversight for the rest of his life.

At the time, Carol was a single mom and was running her first software firm, Organizer Systems, Inc.  Now she also became the healthcare coordinator for her dad, inheriting a morass of legal docs, deeds, medications, policies, bank accounts & a host of other critical docs & information and having her carry around a medical binder that was constantly growing.  When her dad passed away in 2008, it lead to a five year scavenger hunt to find everything important so the estate could finally be settled. That same year, 2008, Carol created her second software company, CareBinders, and her second software product, CBData®.  Its purpose was to consolidate all the personal, medical and financial information, including a home inventory, so no one would ever have to go through what she'd gone through.

CBData® has grown over the past 11 years, gaining more and more functionality, but it's not been as popular as she'd hoped, mostly because it was only available on a PC and everyone was clamoring for it to be Mac compatible or, even better, online.

In response to many requests from customers and potential customers, in 2018, Carol and her staff embarked upon a rewrite of the original CBData® software, beginning with the home inventory functionality.  Pinventory® was born and became a registered trademark in February of 2020.  The product, along with its slick home inventory mobile app, is being released within a few short weeks!

Carol is dedicated to helping people get control of their important information so they don't have to scramble, like she did, to find answers and prove ownership.  She was interviewed by FOX News Chicago in 2013 about her software product.  You can see the interview at Chicago FOX News Interview.

With the onset of more and more families staying home and self-quarantining due to COVID-19, creating a home inventory is a great way to spend some of that time.  Anyone who has a cell phone can use Pinventory®!  It's a great project for people of all ages, including teaching your kids how to participate in helping preserve your family's assets - sentimental and otherwise!
